Survey Analytics

Use survey analytics to follow up on responses.

Written by Robin Janevret

With survey analytics you get advanced statistics on survey results. You get details on both group level and on individual level.

The survey response can be set to anonymous, and you will then only get statistics on a group level.

Set the survey to anonymous responses

Anonymous Responses decides whether a survey should be anonymous or not. Please note that once this setting has been enabled, you will not be able to disable this setting.

ℹ️ If anonymous responses is enabled, you will only be given an overview of the results once 8 learners have completed a survey.

Export Survey data to Excel/CSV reports

It is now possible to export quiz and survey data/answers to Excel or CSV format. To export data for a quiz or survey, go to the Quiz or Survey > Analytics > More menu.

Finding your survey results

Survey and quiz response data is in Analytics → Surveys & Quizzes — not under the main Reports tab. From here you can view per-question responses, response distributions, and export raw data as CSV.

ℹ️ If the Surveys & Quizzes tab is not visible, check that your role has the Analytics permission enabled in Studio → Settings → Role Permissions.

Translated surveys — data is split by language

When you create a translated version of a survey, Learnster saves it as a separate survey object in the Library — not as a multilingual version of the same survey. Survey analytics are therefore also split: responses from the original and translated versions appear as separate entries in Analytics.

To consolidate response data across language versions, export each version's results as CSV and merge them manually.

💡 If all your learners can complete the survey in one language, using a single-language survey avoids the split and simplifies reporting.
