In the Course Information tab, you set up key course details, including the course description, cover image, syllabus, and target group, to provide clear and engaging information for your learners.
To add information, go to the course and click the tab Information.
Course Information
Field: | Description: |
Course name | The name of the course. This is a mandatory field. |
Course description | A course description that is displayed on the course information page in Learnster U. You can type free text. This text will be displayed in Learnster U if added. |
Cover image | An image that will represent the course. The cover image will be shown on the course card in Learnster U. |
Syllabus | Usually bullet points or a list with the course content that is shown on the course information tab. You can type free text. This text will be displayed in Learnster U if added. |
Requirements | Information about course prerequisites. You can type free text. This text will be displayed in Learnster U if added. |
Target group | Information about the course target group. You can type free text. This text will be displayed in Learnster U if added. |
Other information | Additional course information. You can type free text. This text will be displayed in Learnster U if added. |
Roles
Under Roles, you can add relevant users to the course—such as Instructors, Content Designers (or any Custom Roles with course permissions you’ve created):
Select a user from the list.
Choose a role from the dropdown.
Click the check icon to confirm.
ℹ️ When a user is added as an Instructor or Content Designer, the role will appear on their user card. (Note: This does not apply to custom roles.)
For Instructors, you can choose whether they should be visible or hidden on the course information page. To hide an instructor, simply hover over their name and click the eye icon.

Information
Course length: Displays course length information on the course information page in Learnster U.
Scheduled time: Displays course duration on the course information page in Learnster U.
Duration is automated from a scheduled block. If a course doesn't contain a scheduled block, the setting will be disabled.
Show start & End dates: Displays course start and end dates. Requires that the course contains a scheduled block.
Self study: Displays course self-study duration on the course information page in Learnster U. This is a free text field.
Location: Locations are used in scheduled blocks, especially for on-site activities like scheduled seminars and classroom events. The location information will be displayed in Learnster U as a map.
Learners
Show learners: Allow learners to see other course participants on the course information page in Learnster U.
- Yes: learners will be displayed on the information page.
- No: learners will not be displayed on the information page (default).
Price
Set a price for the course if you use internal invoicing, for example. The price will appear on the Course Information tab in Learnster U and will be included in course reports (Excel and CSV). If no price is added, the price label will be hidden in U. You can also toggle the visibility of the price using the eye icon.
