Like any system, Learnster uses some common concepts and terminology. Getting familiar with these will make it much easier to understand how everything works. Take a moment to explore them!๐ก
Course Outline
The Course Outline is where you structure all your course content including blocks, headers, and pages.
Block
A Block is where you add Headers and Pages. There are three types of blocks:
Scheduled: for course days and dates (scheduled/classroom courses)
Unscheduled: for course activities with or without deadlines (online self-study material)
You can have multiple Blocks within one course and mix your content between Scheduled Activities (classroom) and Unscheduled Activities (online).
Heading
Headings are groups of Pages within a Block, designed to help you organize content and create a clear structure. Headings are optional.
Page
Pages are where you add the course content. You simply drag-and-drop activity types to the page, for example videos, text, images, links, interactions, etc or a mixture of different activity types.
Content
Content are course materials e.g. videos, documents, links, interactions, quizzes, etc., published in a Page.
Parent/Children course
Use a Parent course when you want to manage multiple similar courses that share the same core content and settings but have unique variations, such as timelines, locations, or deadlines.
For example:
A training program conducted in multiple cities (e.g., Gothenburg and Stockholm), where each city has its own schedule.
An online course offered repeatedly with different enrollment deadlines.
By creating a Parent course, you can centralize and standardize the core course details while allowing flexibility in managing individual Child courses for specific needs.

Tags
Tags are used to group users (often Learners) and courses. Itโs an effective way to assign courses.
Learn more about tags here.
Library
In the Library you can store and reuse your content.

Course card
Courses are presented as course cards in the Learnster U main view. When you click on a course card the course page opens and you will find course information, course activities and course evaluation.
