Enriched Analytics – Report Improvements

We’ve enhanced your reporting experience with new data points, smarter filtering options, and improved report accuracy. These updates make it easier to analyze user activity, enrollment details, and course progress — all while ensuring smoother navigation and more reliable insights.

New Data Points and Filters

  • Enrollment Method

Added as "User enrollment method" in both a column and filter in the Participant Report, allowing you to see and segment how users were enrolled in a course.

  • Custom Roles

Now available as a filter option "User roles" in both the User Report and Participant Report, enabling refined insights based on role types.

  • Auto-Enrolled

Added "Auto enrollment active" as a column and filter in both the Participant Report and Course Report, making it easier to identify automatically enrolled users.

  • Team Manager Assignment Filter

You can now filter by Is Assigned or Is Not Assigned when viewing team manager data in the User Report and Participant Report, allowing for more precise filtering.

  • Student History

Introduced "User course history" as a new column in the User Report. This provides a full overview of each user’s learning history, including any external course history.

Enhanced Functionality and Accuracy

  • Completion Rate in Course Reports

A new column "Course completion rate" is added to Course reports, a data point shows completion rates per course, giving you a clearer view of learning progress.

  • Pagination Improvements

Pagination in reports now correctly reflects the total number of available pages, ensuring accurate navigation and a smoother user experience when working with large datasets.

Content Creation (CC) Wizard Updates

  • Expanded File Format Support

The CC Wizard can now process a wider range of file formats for content ingestion, including:

    • Documents: Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx, .xlm), HTML

    • Presentations: PowerPoint (.pptx) — including notes

    • PDFs: Enhanced OCR (optical character recognition) now extracts text from images in PDF and PowerPoint files

These updates make it easier to import, convert, and utilize existing learning materials directly in Learnster.

ℹ️ Content Creation Wizard is available as an Add-on to our Core plan. Reach out to your Customer Success Manager or Customer support to get started

Additional Fixes and Platform Enhancements

  • Notification Indicator in Learnster U

A visible notification indicator now appears if you have an unattended notification.

  • Role Permissions Enhancements

Further segmentation of user information by role type, providing greater data protection and visibility control where you are now able to provide user view permissions and still hide course history data. We have also expanded some permissions settings to allow either No Rights or Edit rights to current Learnster roles that has previously been locked.

    (Available for all customers.)

  • MFA Support for Nelson App

If Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is enabled for a vendor, it will now also apply to the Nelson app for added security.

ℹ️ Multi-Factor Authentication is available for Core plan customers, reach out to your Customer Success Manager or Customer support to get started.

  • Bulk upload of attributes: You are now able to create attributes such as tag, office, and company when performing a bulk upload, by enabling the toggles: "Create title if not exists", "Create office if not exists", "Create company if not exists" (according to image below).

  • Redirect from hyperlink in a logged out state Fixed an issue where entering Learnster through a hyperlink broke the redirect if being forced to log in through auth portal.

  • Import/Export Functionality for Courses

New import/export capability directly from the UI allowing course transfers between different vendors. When the feature is enabled in your instance you will se an "Import course" button in the "Course" tab in Studion, and when clicking on the "..." menu of a specific course you will se an "Export " option (see the image below). To export course from one vendor to another:

    • Navigate to the "..." menu of a course you want to export. Press "Export". A code will be displayed- copy it to your clipboard

    • Navigate to the other vendor where you want to import the course. Press the "Import course" button and paste the code. The import task will run and you will be informed when the import is completed.
