Accessibility Enhancements (WCAG 2.2 Compliance)

In Learnster v29, we've implemented foundational updates to make the learner platform fully compliant with WCAG 2.2 AA standards. These changes support truly inclusive learning experiences and ensure readiness for the upcoming EU digital accessibility regulations coming into effect in late June.

These improvements aren’t just about meeting legal requirements—they help you deliver learning that reaches everyone, including users with visual, motor, or cognitive impairments. By enhancing accessibility, your organization ensures fairness, boosts learner satisfaction, and reduces the risk of non-compliance, showing true commitment of making learning accessible to everyone.

With the accessibility updates, you get:

  • Screen Reader Support

Improved ARIA labels and semantic markup enhance compatibility with screen readers, allowing visually impaired learners to navigate and understand course content more easily.

  • Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements in the learner platform can now be accessed and operated via keyboard, ensuring full usability without requiring a mouse.

  • Color Contrast Improvements

Interface colors have been adjusted to meet WCAG 2.2 contrast standards, supporting better readability for users with low vision.

  • Accessible Titles and Metadata

Clear and descriptive headings, labels, and metadata have been added to support cognitive clarity and compatibility with assistive technologies.

  • Theme Accessibility Guidelines

For clients using custom themes, we’re providing clear guidelines on how to design visually appealing yet compliant learning experiences. This helps you maintain both brand identity and accessibility standards.

These updates have been deployed to the Learner platform and position you to confidently meet legal obligations while delivering a better experience to all users.
