What is the Impersonator?
Impersonator lets you see exactly what a learner sees — their courses, progress, and permissions — without creating test accounts or needing screen sharing.
With Impersonator you can:
Troubleshoot user issues — see exactly what a learner sees to quickly identify what's wrong.
Validate role permissions — confirm that the right content is visible to the right people.
Resolve support cases faster — diagnose issues with full visibility into the end-user experience.
ℹ️ Impersonator is available exclusively to Super Admins. Contact your Customer Success Manager to have it activated in your environment.
How to Use Impersonator
Go to Studio → Users.
Find and click the user you want to view the platform as.
In the user's profile panel, click the View as button in the top right corner.
The platform reloads showing the learner's view — you'll see exactly what they see, including their assigned courses, progress, and available content.
To return to your Admin view, log out and log back in with your own account.
Things to Know
Read-only view — while in Impersonator mode you cannot make changes to the learner's account or progress.
No impact on the learner — using Impersonator does not notify the learner, affect their session, or change any of their data.
Super Admins only — the View as button is only visible to users with the Super Admin role.
